Digital nomad is a person who can work remotely and independently of the place of work in the positions of IT specialists or Marketing specialists using telecommunications, either on the basis of employment with a foreign employer, or in their own company with a place of effective management outside the Czech Republic, or on the basis of self-employment and is a citizen of Australia, Brasil, Canada, Israel, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, Singapore, The Republic of Korea, Taiwan, The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland or The United States of America.
This person may apply for a residence permit under the programme:
(a) Employee of a foreign company – an employee of a foreign company who will work for the company remotely on a long-term basis in the territory of the Czech Republic using telecommunications means. In this case, the foreigner remains employed in his/her foreign company at all times and does not enter into an employment relationship in the Czech Republic.
He applies for a long-term visa for the purpose of other.
b) Freelancer (OSVČ) – a foreigner who holds or will hold a Czech trade license.
He/she applies for a long-term visa for the purpose of business.
c) Immediate family members of the digital nomad
To apply for a long-term visa for the purpose of family.
The requests for inclusion in the program are administered by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and need to be sent to digitalnomad@mpo.gov.cz.
