Ching Tai Electric Wire & Cable (CTi Cable), a leading Taiwanese manufacturer of high-performance cable and interconnect solutions, has announced its intention to invest in Czechia. The planned investment of $4 to $5 million will create more than 50 new jobs and establish highly automated production of key components such as cables and assembly parts for the AI, autonomous vehicle, aerospace, industrial automation, medical and IoT industries. The newly established company, CTi Europe s.r.o., and the manufacturing plant to be set up in Klecany, located in P3 Logistic Park Prague D8, will expand the supply capacity of CTi Cable, which aims to become a key player in the European market. This significant investment, supported by CzechInvest, will bring new job opportunities and strengthen Czechia's position in the field of advanced technologies.
„The cooperation between the Czechia and Taiwan in the areas of microelectronics and information technology is developing successfully and we are glad that investments in the area of advanced electrical engineering are also coming. The company's products are used for cutting-edge applications in areas such as Industry 4.0, medical technology and smart buildings. These are areas that are growing in Europe and we expect CTi Cable's investments to grow with them in the future," said Petr Očko, Senior Director of Digitization and Innovation at the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
„CTi Cable's investment represents a significant step forward for the Czech high-tech sector. This technology investment will significantly strengthen the Czechia's competitiveness in the electrical industry and underlines the growing confidence of Taiwanese companies in the Czech business environment and innovation ecosystem. The company's presence on our market will stimulate further development in this sector. The CzechInvest Agency played a key role in the implementation of this investment," said Jan Michal, Director General of the CzechInvest Agency.
„The reasons for choosing Czechia and the subsequent investment are multifaceted. Czechia is located in the heart of Europe, which provides a strategic advantage for distributing products across the continent. In addition, Czechia has a long tradition and recognised skills in manufacturing and innovation, particularly in technology-intensive sectors. This combination allows us to leverage local know-how and manufacturing infrastructure to provide high quality services and products to customers across Europe," explains Sunny Lin, Vice President of CTi Cable, explaining the reasons for choosing Czechia, adding: „During the preparation of our investment decision, we already started working closely with CzechInvest. CzechInvest was there for us from the preliminary investment evaluation phase and provided timely and efficient assistance throughout the process."
CzechInvest played a key role in supporting CTi Cable’s investment. From the initial preparation phase, it provided relevant information and analysis that helped the company in its evaluation of Czechia as an ideal investment destination. CzechInvest also assisted in the selection of a suitable location for the new production plant. CzechInvest also regularly provided consultations on visa programmes. Another important support was the facilitation of available financial support and grants that could help reduce the cost of setting up the plant. Throughout the process, CzechInvest provided relevant legal and regulatory information, making it easier to navigate the Czech investment environment.
