Ching Tai Electric Wire & Cable (CTi), a leading Taiwanese manufacturer of high-performance cables and interconnect solutions, has opened its first plant in Europe. It will produce components for artificial intelligence, autonomous vehicles, aviation, healthcare, and industrial automation. The project was created with the support of the CzechInvest agency, which provided CTi with assistance from the initial phase of the investment decision to the selection of the location in Klecany near Prague.
After expanding its supply capacities, CTi Europe s.r.o., which operates in Czechia, has ambitions to become a key player on the European market. The new plant, worth CZK 120 million, is therefore designed as a technological base for European customers who emphasize reliability, quality, and short delivery times. "Czechia offers us the ideal combination of a strategic location in the heart of Europe, excellent infrastructure, and a strong tradition in mechanical and electrical engineering to fulfill this vision. These advantages will enable us to effectively supply the European market and further develop our innovative capacities in cooperation with local experts," said CTi Europe Vice President Sunny Lin.
The development of Czech-Taiwanese cooperation in advanced electrical engineering builds on previous successful projects in the field of microelectronics and information technology. The plant in the P3 Logistic Park Prague D8 industrial park in Klecany will complement the European supply chain for high-tech industries and contribute to strengthening Czechia's position as an innovation center for electrical engineering and intelligent systems.
The production of cables and connectors for HDMI, USB, DisplayPort, Ethernet, and other data and connectivity solutions is designed to be fully digitized and data-driven, with an emphasis on quality, precision, and energy efficiency. It will employ fifty new employees.
"CTi's investment brings high added-value know-how and develops segments in which we have a strong tradition, namely precision manufacturing, electrical engineering, and mechatronics. At the same time, it confirms the growing confidence of Taiwanese technology companies in the Czech industrial and innovation environment," said Jan Michal, CEO of CzechInvest.
CTi's establishment in Czechia reflects the growing dynamism of Taiwanese high-tech manufacturers, who are expanding their presence in Central Europe. "Taiwan and the Czech Republic share a strong industrial tradition and a progressive vision focused on innovation and sustainability. Projects such as CTi Europe not only bring cutting-edge technologies and new job opportunities, but also deepen our bilateral partnership and contribute to a more resilient supply chain between Taiwan and Europe," said Remus Li-Kuo Chen, representative of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Prague.
CzechInvest played a key role in the implementation of the investment, providing analytical data leading to the selection of the Czech Republic as the most suitable investment destination, assisting in the selection of a suitable location for the plant itself, mediating legal and investment advice, and helping with visa programs for foreign experts. "The opening of this production plant is further proof of the growing interest of Taiwanese companies looking for a suitable technological base for entering European markets. CzechInvest contributes significantly to building the confidence of foreign investors through its targeted promotion of the Czech investment environment," added Gabriela Bauerová, Director of the Investment Development Department at CzechInvest.
