CzechBusiness Is Born: One Place for Your Growth

This is what the emerging CzechBusiness agency will be like, bringing together the CzechInvest Business and Investment Support Agency and the CzechTrade Trade Promotion Agency under one umbrella.

The creation of the new agency, effective August 1, 2026, was announced by Minister of Industry and Trade Karel Havlíček at a press conference.

What will companies gain?

  • A single point of contact for companies in Prague and all regional capitals, offering comprehensive services
  • A single international network used both to support Czech companies and to promote investment opportunities in the Czech Republic
  • Strengthened support for trade and investments
  • A strong startup agenda, support for the development of the investment environment and companies

All of CzechInvest’s existing services for investors, small and medium-sized enterprises, and startups will continue, as will the services for exporters previously provided by CzechTrade. For clients of both agencies, this will mean they will be able to turn to a single point of contact, whether at the Prague headquarters, the regional offices that previously operated under CzechInvest, or the consolidated international network that previously operated primarily under the CzechTrade banner.

The integration is scheduled to be fully completed and CzechBusiness to be fully operational by January 1, 2027. Throughout the transition period, ongoing projects will continue without restriction, and companies can continue to utilize their existing contacts and professional services.

Some European countries, such as Finland, France, and Sweden, have already taken a similar approach and integrated support for the business environment into a one single state agency.

“Our role at CzechInvest is to ensure the quality and continuity of our services for clients, whether they are startups, small and medium-sized enterprises, or large investors, and to help ensure that the transition to a single agency proceeds efficiently while maintaining a focus on projects with higher added value, new technologies, and support for research, development, and innovation. I believe that we at CzechInvest have succeeded in moving in this direction and thus contributing to economic growth and the modernization of the Czech economy. Now we have the potential to be even stronger,” says Jan Michal, CEO of CzechInvest
