How can you network with investors, find new business partners, and gain access to one of Europe’s most dynamic startup environments? The answer was provided by this year’s Latitude59 conference in Tallinn, Estonia, which was also attended by a Czech delegation of startups, investors, and representatives of CzechInvest as part of the Bohemian Pitch program.
Latitude59 is one of the most prominent startup and technology conferences in the Nordic-Baltic region. Every year, it brings thousands of startup founders, investors, corporations, and policymakers from dozens of countries around the world to the Estonian capital. Thanks to its focus on international networking, matchmaking, and the presentation of innovative projects, it serves as an ideal gateway for Czech companies into the Estonian and broader European startup ecosystem.
Estonia as an inspiration for startups
Although Estonia, with a population of approximately 1.36 million, is one of Europe’s smallest countries, it has long been a global leader in innovation and entrepreneurship. The country is known for its fully digitized public administration, business-friendly environment, and strong support for technology companies. It is precisely thanks to these conditions that one of the world’s most successful startup ecosystems and a number of globally successful companies have emerged here.
For Czech startups, Estonia is interesting not only as a source of inspiration but also as a potential partner for developing international activities. The local environment is open to foreign founders, investors, and technology companies, offering broad opportunities for collaboration in areas such as artificial intelligence, fintech, cybersecurity, defense technologies, and energy.
Czech startups presented innovative solutions
The Czech delegation included startups operating in various technology sectors. NABERIUS TECH presented its IRIS solution, which enables the automated creation of photorealistic and geographically accurate digital twins. The startup Remanguys showcased technologies focused on remote and tactical drone control, as well as simulation environments for their use. The startup Quantum for Simulations also attracted attention; it uses quantum computing to optimize the use of materials in industry, particularly in aviation, space technology, and the automotive sector.
The conference also featured representatives from the Czech investment scene, such as Česká spořitelna’s Seed Starter, Presto Ventures, and Tech Horizons, who had the opportunity to learn about new technology projects and network with investors from across the region.
CzechInvest Presented Its Technology Incubation Program
CzechInvest also represented the Czech startup ecosystem at the conference. Kateřina Rundová, Director of the Technology Development and Startup Incubation Division, presented the Technology Incubation program, which supports the development of innovative technology companies in the Czech Republic. The program focuses on areas such as artificial intelligence, mobility, space technologies, and the creative industries, and is one of the most significant tools for supporting startups in the Czech Republic.
Participation in Latitude59 confirmed that events like this represent an important opportunity for Czech startups to expand internationally. In addition to showcasing their own solutions, they provide an opportunity to establish new business relationships, receive feedback from investors, and gain a better understanding of the trends shaping the future of the European technology market.
