Czech Startup Week 2026: Following last year’s 2,500 visitors, an even more dynamic edition is on its way

This fall, Prague will once again showcase the best of the Czech startup scene, with international companies also in attendance. Czech Startup Week, an initiative of the CzechInvest agency, annually brings together key ecosystem events into a single week so that it can offer founders, investors, corporations, aspiring entrepreneurs, and startup enthusiasts access to the full breadth of what the Czech startup scene has to offer over the course of one week.

For international visitors, this means a fixed date on the calendar that can be planned up to two years in advance, and during the week they can choose from a wide range of independent events based on their own interests.

The uniqueness of Czech Startup Week lies in the way it operates: it is not a single centrally managed program, but a coordinated network of independent events taking place in parallel, with each organizer handling the logistics in their own way. The organizers coordinate PR and communication, but each event has its own organizer, its own program, and its own character. The result is a vibrant and diverse week full of opportunities.

“The Czech startup scene has a lot to offer, and Czech Startup Week is an opportunity to show that to the world. The main event organized by the CzechInvest agency is #demoday for projects from the Technology Incubation and the ESA BIC Czech Republic incubator, where startups get the chance to present themselves to investors and partners live on stage. At a time when we handle so many things online, in-person meetings remain what truly drives collaboration forward, and that is exactly what we want to use Czech Startup Week for,” explains Markéta Přenosilová, Deputy Director of CzechInvest for Startups and Innovation.

“Czech Startup Week brings together the main program, which also gives rise to a number of accompanying events across the ecosystem. Just around the Engaged conference alone, at least ten smaller meetings take place every year, and the event itself brings investors from all over Europe to Prague, last year from 23 countries. This makes it one of the key opportunities to connect the Czech startup ecosystem with foreign capital and demonstrate that the Czech Republic is a strong and high-quality tech nation,” says Eliška Vámošová, Director of the Engaged Investments conference

“The future of the Czech economy will be built on innovation, technology, and the ability to collaborate across disciplines. Events like Tech Happy Hours or Engaged Investments Conference help create an environment where ideas become companies, contacts become partnerships, and local projects become global successes. Our goal is for Prague to be a natural meeting place for the European startup community. That’s why we, the organizers from Startup Kitchen, Czech Founders, and CzechInvest, get involved in organizing Tech Happy Hours every year,” says Tomáš Cironis, CEO of Startup Kitchen and former partner at the Luxembourg-based VC fund Ilavska Vuillermoz Capital
