CzechInvest has unveiled a new publication titled Invest in the Czech Republic: Facts and Stories for Korean Investors, released on the occasion of the Czech Semicon Days and Czech Investment Forum. The brochure provides an overview of key data, investment opportunities, and success stories of Korean investors operating in the Czech Republic.
The publication highlights why the Czech Republic has long been one of the most attractive destinations for Korean investment in Central Europe. Key figures include:
- Since 2005, CzechInvest has facilitated more than 40 Korean investment projects worth USD 3.8 billion, creating over 13,500 jobs.
- Approximately 100 Korean companies are now part of the Czech economy.
- One of the most prominent Korean investors – Hyundai in Nošovice – has already produced more than 5 million vehicles, with over 95% of production destined for export.
- Nexen Tire has invested a total of CZK 24 billion in Žatec and, following the expansion of production, increased its capacity to 11 million tires annually.
- Doosan Škoda Power supplies turbines to more than 60 countries worldwide and this year signed a contract worth approximately CZK 5 billion for the Dukovany nuclear power plant.
- Doosan Bobcat in Dobříš manufactures around 25,000 machines annually and also operates a major development and innovation centre.
